Garden Update:

Remember my garden from this post just but three weeks ago? Boy has it grown! I recently counted over 30+ roma tomatoes, four broccoli, three bell peppers and a cherry tomato! Add to that all of my greek and sweet italian basil, green onion and my bib lettuce and my garden is growing beautifully! The tomatoes are approximately 4 ft. tall now! That's crazy!

Last week I used some of my sweet italian basil on my chicken alfredo french bread pizzas, yesterday I passed on a good bit of lettuce to my aunt, and tonight I used some of the lettuce and green onion with our gorditas! And boy was it all yummy! I can't wait for my tomatoes to ripen! I still need to get some pics of my zucchini and yellow crook neck squash that we planted. Now I just wish I had some fruit. I really want some chives (still can't get those to grow, although I did grow some parsley that I need to transplant, as well as garlic to plant and more green onion), watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries and blueberries. I'm also really wishing I had a lemon tree. Seriously, it sounds dumb, but it's amazing how good it feels to have grown your own food and just to walk outside and get what you need! I wish I could do it with everything!

I am planning to try and figure out some good bread recipes and tortilla recipes as well. The more that I can learn to make on my own and not have to buy, the better. It feels amazing, and tastes delicious too!

15 Months!

OMG!! Seriously!? 15 months!? I don't know what's happening. Time is passing me by at lightening speed and my little girl is becoming more of a big girl each and every day!

This month she learned to color both with crayons, as well as sidewalk chalk. We also got her a toddler pair of safety scissors for Easter that she got to try, but has a little trouble getting the paper  to go between the scissors because it barely opens wide enough.

(Her first coloring for Daddy)

We also finally were able to break out her water table that we bought her for her birthday way back in January! Yay! She seemed to really like it! She loves playing in water!

We celebrated her cousin, Nathaniel's 1st birthday!

Took walks!

Played in her new big girl pool!

Picked flowers!

She also loves to blow kisses now, which is just about the cutest darn thing! In addition to giving real ones.

We went on her second ever beach trip! She didn't really like the texture/feel of the sand on her feet, and the water was a bit too cold, but she really enjoyed digging in the sand and washing/playing with the seashells that we collected. :)

We also attended the 2nd Annual Tea Party with Grandmommy again this year! It was a lot of fun and she got to try a bunch of yummy new foods!

We have now officially started the switchover in to size 18 month clothing. She is too tall for her 12 month jeans even though her waist can still fit into them alright. And her feet are too big for 12 month footed sleepers. She's in size four sandles & play shoes, and size 5 tennis shoes! And she now weighs 20.4 lbs and is 31.5" tall!

She loves piggyback rides, being outside, playing in water, dancing, swinging and slides and climbing.

Her favorite shows are Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Barney, Sid The Science Kid and Word World.

Her favorite things to eat are macaroni & cheese, blueberries, red grapes, goldfish, pop tart crisps,  honeydew, celery, and fruit purees in our reusable squeeze pouches.

Words that she can now say are Mama, Dada, Papa, Boob, Bubble, Ham, Bye Bye, Doug, Chell (Michelle), Yes, Baby, Fruit, U Bob (Aunt Bobbie). She also growls for certain animals, and woofs when she sees or hears a dog, and quacks when she sees a duck.

She knows where her ears, eyes, nose, mouth, tongue, hair, fingers, toes, boobs, and belly are, and can point out different animals and items in books if asked where they are.

She's been working on learning to use a fork, but still sometimes has a little bit of trouble, but did pretty well as Sonny's using a little wooden skewer.

Her favorite song is "Under The Sea" from The Little Mermaid.

She has also been trying to put on her own clothes and put on her own shoes. Several times she's gotten all but the last part of her heel in, and a few times actually gotten them on the correct foot.

Mid-April Update:

So the weather so far this month has been being pretty decent. Hot, but at least sunny and warm enough that we can finally get outside and play in it! We were finally able to break out the water table that we bought Sophia for her birthday, back in January!

The good news is, she really seemed to like it a lot!

I also somehow managed to convince my whole family as well as my aunt and cousin to head up to New Smyrna for their annual Balloon & Sky Fest. It was a lot of fun, and much cheaper than the Warbird Airshow. Only $5! Unfortunately, because the winds were so strong, we never did get to see any of the hot air balloons, but the airshows were great!

They even had a petting zoo! And miniature pony rides!

We ended up leaving to go out for dinner and then walked the Daytona Mall for about an hour and let Sophia play in their playplace and then headed back for their night airshow! That was definitely something to see! I will for sure be going back again next year!

The next day, we headed to Oviedo for Sophia's cousin, Nathaniel's 1st birthday party!

We've also been spending a lot of time in the garden.

We had a garage sale, that completely flopped, but on the plus side, it was supposed to pour all day and didn't, so we were able to set up the cute new pool that I got Sophia to play in!

Complete with slide, waterfall, and ball game.

Also, Daddy started his second job and seems to really be liking it. :) This makes me happy and super glad that the transition has been as easy as it has.

And in other big news, I got my IUD taken out today so that we can start trying for baby #2 in the next few upcoming months, but I wanted to get it out early so that I can take proper precautions in case we have trouble like last time and I end up needing meds.

The rest of this month is a lot less busy. It will mostly just be working on fixing things around the house, which for those that didn't know, got a new facelift recently.

Nice new paint job! And David and I replaced the old post light that didn't work with a new one that does! Also, he and his dad resided one of our sheds and got our sprinklers working, which is wonderful! We don't quite have grass yet, but at least the weeds are green now. Haha.

Since our neighbors (who I don't like) keep taking down more and more of the little bit of privacy we have, David has started making me two new raised garden beds that will also have the ability to hang plants as a temporary fix to block out our neighbors from looking into my kitchen and seeing me run around at night, as seen above. Now if only we could afford to do that all the way around the fence line. Ah. But at least it's looking nice, and will provide me with more planting space!! I've been really loving this gardening thing, and turns out, I'm actually pretty good at it!

So that is all for now, but I will keep you posted!
