Pennsylvania or Bust..

So the time has come for Elizabeth's wedding already. I can't believe how fast this year is going. It's March next week? Jeez. So we head out in just a few days. I'm super happy because I ordered my camera with a case and disk and all but the camera had shown up at Walmart. I was misinformed that the camera was there, but found out that it not only wasn't there yet, but may not be here until after we leave. :( The good news is, thankfully they had the same one I ordered in stock (one left, because of the races and the launch) so they let me have that one, and once mine gets in, they will just put it back on the shelf. :) So yay! I got my camera! And I looove it! Now I gotta worry with making sure I have spare batteries to bring up for the wedding.

Also, Renee and I went shopping yesterday in Waterford to try and find her some shoes for prom, and while we struck out yesterday for her (don't worry, we found some today in Merritt Island), I found shoes that will go with my dress perfectly! I have never been so in love with a pair of shoes before. They are amazing and sparkly.

They had them in a champagne/goldish color too, but my dress is dark blue with a sparkly silver strip under the chest area. I'm so happy! And they were cheap too! Even better! I can't wait to wear them.

To prepare for the trip, I've been doing buttloads of laundry, and dishes galore. It's been kind of exhausting. I think I'm going to start actually packing tonight though, minus the few things that we are currently still using. I'm hoping that we can fit everything into two cases. I started to make a list of everything we need/want to bring, and I'm really hoping that I don't forget anything.

Also, a big thank you to my in-laws! Marj got me a present! She knows I've been feeling really crafty recently, and got me this awesome yarn holder that hold's six rolls of yarn and has holes in the top so that it automatically unrolls it for me as I use it, but keeps everything from getting too tangled. As well as some other help for the trip. We/I are/am very grateful! Thanks so much!

Well, now I'm going to head back and finish laundry, and start the packing process, and get back to the cake balls that I am making. Yum!

Working Hard..

So today was very productive. I went to the gym for the fourth time in a week to do Zumba, I took my car in to get the rattle fixed before the trip, I got David a sports coat for the wedding, got three loads of laundry done, two loads of dishes, and am making a blueberry banana pie. Now I'm going to go relax, and read, and take a nice hot shower.

In other side news, I did not get the UCF one either. Awesome. Two weeks of driving back and forth to Cocoa, Viera, and Orlando, plus spending money on transcripts, to not get either of them, despite having made it through all rounds of both. Agh. Such is my life.

Busy Busy Busy...

So it feels like this month or even 2011 so far has just flown past me. In a week and a half we head up north to Pennsylvania for Jim and Elizabeth's wedding, and I'm so excited! I don't get to travel often, so outside of weddings being a happy occasion, it means I'll get to see places that I otherwise wouldn't. I am definitely thankful for that.

Last weekend was three of the kiddos birthday, so David, Naner and I headed over to the house for presents and cake, and these are a few of the pics I got. Too cute!

And then on Sunday, we (David, Dougal, Naner and I) headed to Jacksonville to visit with my cousin Greg, who was in town in Mayport for a few days. We ended up getting to take a nifty tour of his aircraft carrier, and then headed to St. Augustine for a little bit before we had to bring him back. That was a ton of fun!

Now everything has been getting back to normal. We've gotten the majority of the house finished and ready for us to move in. There are just a few small things that we still need to take care of. The biggest issue now will be packing up all of the crap that is coming with us.

In other news, BCC and TPD didn't end up working out. So I guess we'll see.

But for now, going to head off the bed and read for a bit on my Nook. Catch ya later!

We're Getting There...

So thanks to help from Bruce, we were able to pick up a kitchen counter this weekend, and get the hole cut out for the sink. Today David got it fully installed, and got the sink installed too. We're still missing some PVC piping for it, but other than that, it's good to go. :) And I got my knobs and handles and the kitchen is really starting to come together. :) We also finally found a space heater today (thanks to Marj!) at Walgreens, and it works decently, and even comes with a remote. Haha. So now, I've got to clean out the cabinets, and paint the insides, we're got to still fix the closet wall, and finish painting the ceiling, then put back up the fan. We've got to make another little cabinet/shelfy thing for the kitchen, get it painted and installed, and order our custom window for the bathroom since it's apparently not a standard size. Other than that, and cleaning, we're pretty much good to go. :) And it's really starting to look not half bad, and more like a home. :) So I think once we get those last few things done, we'll start the packing, and getting some of the things moved over.

In other news...Saturday is a birthday party for the kiddos, and Sunday David and I are going up to Jacksonville to see my cousin, Greg, while he's in port, and get David out on the ship so he can check it out.

Coming Along:

So we've been busy, but finally the little house is starting to come along. Now that the roof has been replaced, we've been working on all of the other little things that we need to take care of. There's been some good and bad along the way. We got the outside flood lights working, the living room lights working, the fan working, the kitchen light installed and working, the new a/c unit in, the peg board up, one of the cabinets painted, and half of the ceiling painted. We found out that we don't necessarily need a new water heater, so that's good, at least for the meantime. However, we did learn that the counters that we thought we could use, aren't actually useable after all, so we'll have to get one new 10ft piece of counter, but we WERE able to salvage the other cabinets, instead of having to start from scratch again. So now, we've got to repair the current cabinets and get them painted and installed. We need to buy the counter and install it, along with the sink, we need to replace the closet wall, make a door for the bathroom, get a new bathroom window, and fix the toilet. Oh, and buy a space heater, but other than that, I think that's pretty much everything. Which is good. The goal at the moment is to have the place ready to be lived in before we go to PA for Elizabeth's wedding. However, for ease of Naner watching the pups, I think we'll just move in the non-essentials before we leave (assuming it's ready by then) and then move over the main essentials once we are back. I'm happy though. While it may not be our dream home, or even really that cute, with the little changes that we've made inside, it's already starting to look a little more like a home.
