The Hanson Project

So for those who were unaware, a beautiful lady from Toronto, by the name of Barbara Allin had this dream of writing a song with my favorite band, Hanson. After hearing the song "I Was Born," she too was taken back by it, and decided to reach for her dreams. She created several covers and videos for some of Hanson's songs to help celebrate their 25 year anniversary as a band. After thinking about it a bit, she decided to create something called Fanfare, where she would include a bunch of Hanson fans from around the world! She sent out a casting call, and of course I jumped at the chance. We didn't quite know what we were getting ourselves into at the time, but I was excited to get to mix two of my favorite things, singing and Hanson.

Back in fall we started the process of recording our vocals, and then later recording video footage to make a cover version of Hanson's "If Only." In all, it ended up with 14 of us "fansons", now known as the "Fanson14" from all around the country and even the world! Barbara took to the studio and spent many a long night with her awesome husband, Jason, editing the tons and tons of footage that they received from us all.

It all came together in one of the coolest projects I've ever been a part of! As part of her plan, Barbara held out releasing any of the footage so that it could released during Hanson Days in Tulsa, Oklahoma in May. As luck would have it, 4 of the Fanson14 were going to be able to attend Hanson Days.

The day finally arrived and I got to meet several of these lovely ladies, and now we are becoming good friends! We spent several days together experiencing all things Hanson. Then the most incredible thing happened...We got to sing "If Only" on stage together at Hanson Days, WITH Isaac Hanson!!! Finally, on Saturday after the final Hanson concert took place for the event, we had an afterparty at the Inner Circle Vodka Bar across the street from Cain's Ballroom, where we finally released the video for "If Only!" I couldn't believe the great response we got! It was incredible! And now, here to share with you....our videos!! :)
