Good gravy! It has been waaaay too long since I've done an update, and I apologize for that! Following the last post, life got suppppppper busy!! On the bright side, there's lots to share with you now!
Unfortunately, International Pole Con came and went, and we didn't get the chance to go, despite it being just a few hours away in Dallas due to funding, however, the dates and location have been set for next year, and it is conveniently going to be located in Atlanta, which happens to be within an hour's drive to my in laws new place, so we may be able to sneak in a family trip to visit, and break off for a day or two so David and I can attend the Con! Who knows!? We shall see when we get there.
The rain decided to come in, and flooding happened again, this time, right outside of my studio! Just craziness!
David and I started watching "Game of Thrones" to see what all the hubub was about. As it turns out, it's as good as everyone has proclaimed and we are hooked. We've now made it through most of 5! I also decided to rewatch every season of "Gilmore Girls" in anticipation of the reboot happening in November! I'm currently in season 3. Good lord these seasons are long!
In addition to pole, I've begun taking chair class as well, and am loving everything about it! There's lots of pole/chair things to show so if you have no interest, you may want to skip down now. :)
I finally got my first shoulder mount! Wasn't pretty, but I did it!
Unfortunately, tragedy struck back home, in the Pulse Nightclub shootings in Orlando. That was way too close to home. I am grateful that my friends that had had intentions of going that night had changed their mind and stayed home. My heart breaks for those that are lost.
That same day, tragedy struck us personally here. We woke up that morning to find that Punkin has collapsed and made no effort to try to move. We quickly threw on clothes and took him to the Emergency Vet. After running a few tests, the horrible news came back...He had cancer, and this was the end. There was nothing we could have done, it's not something they would've found at his normal checks (so not a problem with the Dr.s), but is apparently very common at 10+ years in goldens. We had to make a decision, and we chose to end his hurt. We were all there, and all gave him all of the hugs and kisses and love that we possibly could to help ease his mind. My heart fell to pieces. We will always love you, Sir Punkinhead Witch's Brew Pocock! You will always be missed.
Shortly after, Sophia came home and drew pictures of Mommy and Daddy. Mommy had tears in her eyes from losing Punkin.
Sophia loves to color and draw and paint and craft! So when I saw that our local mall was having a painting day, I quickly signed her up! She did a great job and painted a beautiful dragonfly! I am very proud of her!
On the sewing front, I'm made a lot of progress too!
We celebrated Father's Day! We bought Daddy a hammock!
We said goodbye to the crib, and big girl got her own big girl bed!
We all got our teeth cleaned at our new dentists here and I love them all!
I got a chance to get out with some friends to check out a local club that was holding a showcase that some of my friends were performing in! It was really cool and makes me really want to perform!
Our studio put together an ice cream social which was really awesome, and we got to have a lot of fun with friends and our whole family! :)
We went hiking and swimming in the swimming holes.
Before we knew it, we were picking up Carrie from the airport!
We went to Hamilton Pool and out to get pedis,
Barton Springs Pool,
took a trip to Seaworld San Antonio/Aquatica,
and celebrated 4th of July at the Frontier Days Festival!
David and I got to go on our first date night in a year!
Then the same day that we took Carrie back to the airport to fly home, my parents drove in from Florida two hours later!
We started their trip with a visit to San Antonio! We went to the Tower of the Americas,
took a river cruise down the Riverwalk,
had dinner at Hard Rock, and stayed the night in a hotel downtown. The next morning we got up and headed to Seaworld San Antonio again!
We took the girls to see The Secret Life of Pets, and to the Austin Zoo!
We found a new swimming hole and fell in love!
Just before they headed home, we made the trek back to San Antonio to check out the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. My parents were super excited about this, but I was a little cautious because it seemed really expensive (which it was) but TOTALLY worth it! What an experience!
Once my family left, it got a little quiet in the house. Luckily, I won some tickets to a Round Rock Express game, so we had a nice family date! :)
Rosalie started talking in sentences and eating with silverware! She even put together all of the Melissa & Doug puzzles all by herself on her first try! :)
I finally got back into pole after everyone left.
Sophia and I took a mommy/daughter date to McDonald's and the movies to see The Jungle Book! It was nice for the two of us to break away together!
My bestest (and only) sister Naner announced she's PREGGGOOOO!!!!! I am stupid excited and making ALL the things!
And finally, we closed up the month with a beautiful evening family canoe trip and cupcakes!
That now gets us all caught up through July! Boy that was a busy time!! More updates to come in another post. :)
