Happy New Year's Eve everyone! Hopefully this year will be a better one.

It's A Good Day:

Cleaned house and invited David's parents over for dinner tonight. We had salad and chicken alfredo. Then afterwards we took a look at our master bath and talked by the fire for a little before heading to Lowe's. We picked up the stuff to fix our master bath, as well as two lighting fixtures for our foyer and dining room. Hopefully tomorrow or later this week we can go back and pick up a small shop vac, and some mini blinds for the living room. Small steps, but these gift cards are making a world of difference. We are very grateful. Tomorrow afternoon we've gotta take Cleo to the groomers. Tonight I'm just watching "Legend of the Seeker" while David is reading by the fire. Tonight will be relaxing.

A Beautiful Christmas:

I had a great Christmas! I'm ridiculously tired, but happy. It started at 8:30am this morning and went to my parents' house to do presents there. I got a beautiful like 2.5 ft. standing jewelry box that is cherry wood colored, two gift cards to Lowe's, and beads. Then we went to lunch at David's parents' and got to see the kids again and Uncle Larry and Uncle Bob and Aunt Bearigette (sorry, I'm sure I butchered it.) came. We got some money, a Sonic giftcard, another Lowe's giftcard, a Target giftcard, some kitcheny things, the softest sweatshirt you've ever felt, some candy, David got a shirt and some shorts, and an edger. Then off to my grandma's where I got this pretty gold and jade necklace/ring set, some earrings, a digital meat thermometer, some eggs cooker things, two giftcards for Michaels, and David got an electric flying helicopter, which is pretty neat and it lights up. Then delicious dinner and then to my parents' where we played some mario, ate dessert, and Naner and I watched the majority of 'Julie & Julia' before deciding to call it quits and heading home for the night. It was a great day. Thanks to all of you who helped to make it such a great one!

Merry Christmas Everyone:

Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas Is Almost Here:

Oh my gosh, it's only 4 days away already. Where did time go? I've already decided that this coming year will be a good one though. I will get a good job that I enjoy, I will graduate with my masters, and we will try to get pregnant later in the year. :) Yay! So Christmas is 4 days away, and I still have no idea what's going on at either house. I know that in the morning, we're heading to my parents' for an early gift opening, and then later heading to both David's parents' and my grandma's but don't know of times yet, or what to bring as far as food goes. If it's alright, I'm thinking the mashed potatoes again for the Pocock's since that seemed to go well at Thanksgiving, and maybe a squash casserole or broccoli and cheese casserole at my grandma's.

I've been cleaning house like crazy the past couple of days because a friend of ours is supposed to be coming and staying with us for a day or two from Toronto. There's definitely still more that needs to be done, but we're off to a good start I think. Oh, and I've got stuff that I need to donate. Clothes to Country Acres, and some other stuff to the SPCA. I need to get it out of here in the next day or two.

Good Day:

So Naner and I headed to Waterford this afternoon to use my Joann's giftcard! I got a whole bunch of new pretty beads. Can't wait to get more. Seriously, I could spend so much money in there, and I absolutely LOVE making the jewelry. Here are a few of the pix..

Yay!

So far it's been a very good day. I got woken up this morning by Marj bringing me birthday gifts. :) Thank you! And then off to get ready for my interview at BBC Cocoa campus, which I think went really well. It'll be a few weeks before I hear anything since they will be closed for the holidays, but still very excited. Just had a yummy sandwich and soup from Subway, and now home just hanging out before running to the bank. Then dinner tonight at my family's, and I got a Carvel ice cream cake! Yummy!

Getting It Done:

Got David's parents' house mowed today. Got laundry and dishes going, and cleaned up the kitchen. I need to take out the trash, and tidy up the living room a bit. And David REALLY needs to clean the office. It's a mess and I won't touch it. But yay! One step closer. And I got all of the Christmas presents done. I just need to get David to sign the cards to send to our friends, and get my mom and brother's presents wrapped. Then we're all done!

It's Done!!

Yay! Just finished my last final of the semester and got a 90% on it. So final grades to my knowledge are two b's and an a. :) I can live with that. No more school till Jan. 11th!

Potential Job Opportunity?

Well this might be good news. :) I just got called to come for an interview for a part time clerical position at BCC in Cocoa. It'd be perfect hours and I'd have Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays off. And it'd be a foot in the door for internal jobs. Kind of excited. The interview is next Wednesday at 1pm on my birthday so hopefully that will bring good luck. And it starts at the beginning of the year. Wish me luck!

What Is Wrong With Me...?

I don't understand. This whole past week I haven't been sleeping well, but the past two nights have been the worst. Lastnight, even though I still wasn't tired, decided to force myself to head to bed at 4am. I ended up laying awake until 6am. At 9:30am I got up to pee, then finally fell asleep until the alarm went off at 11am. Then David got up, and I attempted to sleep for the next hour and a half, which I only actually slept maybe 20 minutes of. One would think I'd be exhausted tonight. But no....it's 4am again and here I am, still not even the slightest bit tired. What is wrong with me? Seriously? Agh. Maybe I need to look into some Advil PM or Ambien or something. It's very frustrating. Especially when I can't even snuggle my own husband b/c he's passed out 4 hours before me. :(

Happy Birthday Dougal!!

Today is my brother's 20th birthday! I am sooooooo old. Seriously. Next year my sister will be 18 and my brother will be 21? How and when did this happen? Agh. Time is going by way too fast. I'm just thankful I've got to spend it getting closer to my family. I love them so much!

So today I have a final, and tomorrow I've got a final and then I'm done with school until January 11th! Yay! Then next semester I have to fill out my intent to graduate, and sign up for my final two courses for summer! Then Saturday, August 7th, I'm supposed to graduate. Crazy!!

Made Another Jewelry Set Today:

I've been contemplating whether or not to try and start selling some of the jewelry. Do you guys think anyone would buy them? I could do a necklace, bracelet and earrings for $25-$30? Sound reasonable? Well anyway, here's my newest creation. It's actually pink but for some reason the coloration looks strange on film.

11.27.09

I had a great day yesterday. Got up a little earlier than originally planned, but it was okay. The boys took off on their bike trip across Florida. I headed over to my parents' and hung out with my family, watching several episodes of Hell's Kitchen, then Renee and I took her dog and our two for a walk around the neighborhood. Then we decided to run to JCPenny and the bead store in Searstown so I could get some more beads for my jewelry making, but it was closed. So then we decided to head to Waterford to Joanne's. We decided to try and find the boys since they were on the way, and sneak attack them with pictures of them. Oddly enough, right when we got to Waterford area, they called us and said they were done. They were wind/sun burned, and they're bodies were sore. They'd already got 50 miles. So we told them to call us when they were ready for us to pick them up, and we went to Joanne's. I didn't really get any beads (although there's a new bead/scrapbook store on the other side of Waterford that I want to check out one of these days) but I did get a bunch of the findings for them, all at 40% off. :) Then the boys called again and we picked them up and went to Chili's for dinner, which was delicious. Then home again, dropped off Douglas at his house, and Renee came over and helped me set up the Christmas tree, which looks beautiful. Then David started a fire, and Naner and I sat by Christmas tree and the fire and watched The Family Stone. All in all, it was a great day. :)

So I'm almost done with Christmas/Birthday presents for my family. Mom and Renee are taken care of. Just gotta grab Nick's, Dad's, and Doug's. Then a couple of cards and a few 4x6s. :) Yay! It's getting so much closer. I'm very excited! Hoping for giftcards myself. Lowe's, Home Depot, and Joanne's. lol. I feel either very childish or old saying I want Joanne's giftcards. But it is what it is. :) I love Christmas and the holidays! It's my favorite time of year.

Thaksgiving Part 2:

Today was a great day. I'm a little tired, but it was very much worth it. I woke up at 8am to make a breakfast casserole for my family. David stayed asleep because we didn't get to bed until 4am. I headed to my parents' and had breakfast and tea with my family. Then I came back home to start on mom's sweet potato casserole and the mashed potatoes for the Pocock family. After all of that, I took a quick shower, got dressed, and David and I headed to his parents' for our first Thanksgiving dinner. It was really nice. It was the first time in 4 years I think that we had time to stay and talk. We were there for about two hours. It was nice because Bruce Robert came into town, and we got to spend time with David's aunt and uncle, and Mike's mom and dad, Robert, and Marj and Bruce. The food was good, but the company was better. :) At about 2:30pm we headed back home to pick up the pie, casserole and ham. Then off to my grandma's we went. We had a ton of family, and a family friend that we haven't seen in over a year. It was my parents and siblings, three sets of aunts and uncles, three more uncles, grandma, the family friend, and a cousin. After all of the food and company over there, David, Douglas and I came back home. I started on the painting of the kitchen again and actually got pretty far. It's really coming along nicely. I'll post pictures of the before/during/after process later.

Also, I've got two pix of the beautiful lilies my babe got me for our anniversary. :) They're beautiful and sitting in the middle of our dining room table.

I also started doing some more jewelry tonight while the boys were playing video games. There are pix of those here too.

Getting There...

Yay. The pie is baking, and then off to refrigerate. And it's done. :) One less thing to worry about. Then tomorrow morning I've gotta get up at 8am, and make a breakfast casserole for my family. Then back home to make the mashed potatoes and get the sweet potato casserole going in the crock pot. Almost done! Yay! My feet are killing me though. Oh, but my kitchen is looking nice again. :)

Stuff To Do:

I start painting my kitchen today, but it is a far cry from being finished. It looks pretty bad right now actually, but I'm hoping to get a decent bit of it done before the night is over. Tonight I've got to make the pie for my parents', then I've got to get up early tomorrow to make the mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole.

3 Years and Counting.

Today we have been married for three years. We've had our ups and we've had a few downs in our relationship, but I could not be more happy with him. This past year especially has brought us so much closer, and we are just completely in love. I am so grateful to have such a loving, beautiful, talented husband! And I look forward to spending the rest of our lives together. :) Here are a few pics of us 3 years ago, and the last is one of us now. Happy Anniversary Baby! I love you!

Pictures of Production!

So I figured I'd share a few pix since I know that my mom and sister don't read this journal currently anyway. In fact, I'm not sure they even know the link. I should give it to them. But after the holidays. :) Anyway, this is what I've been up today. The first is a necklace for my mom for Christmas. The second is a bracelet for my sister's birthday. The third is a photo of David and I for my mom. And the last is a necklace for my sister for Christmas.

Productiveness:

Today I dropped off my prescription, canceled my gym membership, picked up a ham for Thanksgiving, got my sister's Christmas present made, and one for my mom, got the stuff to finish my sister's birthday present, picked up a pine scented candle and some christmas coasters, a cute box to hold all of my crafty things, and a cute pair of pajamas. :) Yay! All in all I'd say it's a better day.

Update 11.22.09

So things are getting a little bit better I guess, but I'm still very tired. Naner is still asleep, and Nick is up watching TV. David's still asleep too. Maybe I'll crash on the couch and go back to sleep out here so Nick doesn't have to be out here alone. Not entirely sure what the plan is for today, but Naner and I have to get some stuff done for our cousin's birthday tomorrow.

What A Night...

We all had a pretty bad night. I don't want to get into details right now, but sleep is I guess going to be something of the past. Right now checking internet stuff and watching cartoons with Nick. We both just want to sleep, but just can't. So we're keeping each other company until we can. And I should probably eat something to make this headache go away.

Things I Want For This House:

So, I've been doing chores today and cleaning up, and asked myself, what things do I want for this house that would make it more into our dream house? So I decided I'd make a list, so that I have something to look at and remind me of the things that I want to work to achieve for.

*Crown Molding for the Master Bedroom
*Paint for the Living Room
*Paint for the Hall/Foyer
*Paint for Guest Bathroom
*Wood Paneling for the Living Room Floor
*New Counter Top for Kitchen
*Privacy Fencing
*Light Fixture for Foyer
*Ceiling Fans for Bedrooms
*Mini Blinds for Living Room and Office
*Edger
*Blower
*Plants for Front Garden
*Patio Furniture
*French Doors for Dining Room
*Plumbing for Master Bathroom Bathtub

If we had all of these things, our house would be perfect. I love our house, don't get me wrong, but I feel like it needs a little bit more of us in it. And with painting the office and the master bedroom, it's just really made all the difference. And it feels like we're actually home. I want the whole house to feel like home, but it needs a few small changes. The crown molding, french doors and flooring for the living room is what I want the most right now, but I think that paint and blinds are more within our reach. I need to find a job so I can start on some of these. It just makes me happy working on the house and seeing how great it looks afterwards.

Sunday, November 15, 2009

Had a great lunch with David's parents yesterday for his birthday. Then a nice trip to Big Lots! Then home again to relax before heading to my parents' for dinner and cake. :) Today I've been doing nothing but homework. Had a 1000 words paper to write, and another 3 page paper. Will be very happy when it's all over. 3 more weeks of this nonsense.

10/14/09 Update:

Getting ready to start midterms. I have one due by Sunday night, I've got a paper next week, and then another the following week. I currently have two A's and a B, but am hoping to bring up the other B. I'm a little bit stressed out, because only one of these classes do I actually enjoy, the others are just requirements, and one is in my worst possible abilities, Research Methods. Bleh. I'm already signed up and ready to go for next term though, and I can't wait. While it sucks a little bit that it's three classes again, two of them are with a teacher I absolutely adore, so I know they will be okay. :)

Still looking to find a job, and applying several places, but it's just not in the stars right now I guess. It is however, giving me a good amount of time to focus on my studies and my husband and the rest of my family. And I've been able to cook dinner most nights, and am very much enjoying that feeling.

Not much else is going on currently. We've been able to spend some time with some old friends, and have been making some new ones, so that's kind of exciting, and other than that, we're doing pretty good. :)

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

It actually feels like fall...

Yay! I couldn't be happier. I know it's only going to last through today probably, but i love that i woke up with it actually feeling like fall. :)

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Mowing and food..

Gonna mow some lawns today, and then have a cookout at my parents'. So tired.

Sunday, September 13, 2009

Time to relax...

Done with homework and watching "Criminal Minds". Can't wait to go camping! Very excited! We have an awesome tent. And it's almost fall! I couldn't be happier. I love fall and winter. I can't wait to wear sweaters again, and curl up and cuddle at night. Good times.

Babies everywhere...

It was my nephew's third birthday, the birth of a new niece, the birth of a new cousin, and many others being born or getting pregnant. while it makes me happy, it saddens me. It gets really frustrating after a while.

Thursday, August 27, 2009

Update:

So I finally left Fairvilla, as it continued to go downhill. After 8 months of being there, I never did end up getting the raise I was promised 3 months in. They took awake my Saturdays which I was promised when I started I would have. I went three days without ever seeing David at all because I had the stupidest schedule in the world, and never got home before 3am. The entire night shift minus one left. It was just too much.

Took a visit to Tampa to visit with friends, and have started more of the modeling stuff again now that I have time available.

Classes started on Monday and we got all of my books except one, which still hasn't come in yet. Gr. Got my schedules printed out, and am working on my third semester. Only two more semesters after this and I'm done! :) Yay! Finally.

Just spent lastnight and today cleaning house, doing laundry, dishes, mowing our lawn, taking out the trash and recyclables, and vacuuming. Lots to do. It's almost done though, thankfully, and I'm feeling pretty accomplished. :)

Thursday, August 6, 2009

Woot Woot!

Got another job interview with Sheriff's office Tuesday morning at 10am. Wish me luck! :)

Sunday, August 2, 2009

School:

Yay! I just finished my final, so I am now officially done with school until the 24th, which is nice because it means I actually get to take a break before my three new classes start. I'm really excited about one of them. The others...not so much,  but it'll all work out. Very excited tho! Just three more semesters and I'm done! I've got three classes for fall, three for spring, and two for summer. Yay!

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Yay!

Got my stitches out, and had a great night out with David lastnight. It was a well needed date.

Thursday, July 9, 2009

Stitches:

Finally get my stitches out next Tuesday. Can't wait, because it currently itches like crazy.

Wednesday, July 1, 2009

Moley, moley, moley

Just had a mole cut out from my back. It was horribly scary, but surprisingly not bad. I have to go back on the 14th to get the stitches removed.

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

All done!

Yay! Cleaned our first house today, and it looks amazing. My mom and I do good work. Very proud. Little tired, but very proud.

We won the first bid!

Yay! So we won the lockout, the trashout, and the lawn for the house! Very exciting! Getting ready to head over to start the cleaning process. Then Friday we have to go mow the US1 house again. :) I'm really liking this. And am very very grateful for Cecil helping us out so much with this.

Sunday, June 21, 2009

Happy Father's Day dad and Bruce!

Just wanted to wish you guys a happy father's day!! hope you have a great one!

P.S. we put in our first bid on a trashout. Pretty exciting! :)

6/18/09 Update:

I went to the 6 story building today to get our county license, which should be ready for pick up in like 40 minutes. Apparently the woman was friends with my mother, and the second I walked in goes "are you Lisa's daughter?" Anyway, that's done for now until I have to pick it up and pay for it. I've got a bit of a headache and upset stomach at the moment. Not sure what's going on. Today's been a little stressful, but I'm really hoping it will get better soon. I'm not looking forward to tonight, or working at Fairvilla anymore in general. I'll be very glad once we get this company really going. Also, Pastor John called me while I was getting the licensing done. I need to call him back. He was responding to the e-mail I'd sent a week or so ago about whether or not the church was hiring. Hopefully this could be potentially good news, even if only something part-time that way we wouldn't have to completely rely on the mowing for full income. Oh, and one of my classes ends next week already, and then the other next month. I'll be so glad when this semester is over.

Monday, June 15, 2009

Mission Accomplished:

So as of tomorrow we should have a business. :) Now to get some more clients. Hopefully as of next week it will be up and running. We've got some fliers, and we talked to Robert, David's brother who may help me out a little bit with some of the mowing. :) Very excited. A little scared, but mostly excited.

Sunday, June 14, 2009

Get the show on the road:

So we're getting the ball rolling. Tuesday we'll be trying to get our business license, and we've got e-mail, phone, and setting up a bank account, and already have software rolling for billing and such. Very excited. So we'll see how it goes. Still gonna be a few weeks I'm guessing, but it's a step in the right direction. The company is called "Poor Roosters" lol. Get it? :)

Saturday, June 13, 2009

Poosible company?

We're considering opening a lawn mowing company. Anyone need their lawn done? Or know of any companies that need theirs done?

Wednesday, June 3, 2009

Slap in the face:

So when I was at the Sheriff's office last Tuesday I specifically asked the woman if there were other people still competing for the job. She specifically said in front of both David and I that I was their first choice, that there were no others, and that the job was mine once I passed the background and polygraph. Given that I have absolutely nothing in my background, it should've been a breeze. I get a call on the way to work Monday saying that they have to cancel my polygraph (that was scheduled for 4:30pm yesterday) and that they decided to give the position to another candidate, and that it wasn't a problem with me, just someone else completely background first. That's funny, since she said there wasn't anyone else. Talk about a huge slap in the face. I cried the whole way to work Monday. It's complete bullshit. I'm so stressed out.

Wednesday, May 27, 2009

New/Old Dr.:

So I did a search for providers under Blue Cross Blue Shield and found a Dr. I used to have as a child, but I wasn't sure why we'd stopped seeing him, if there'd been a problem or if our insurance was no longer covered or what. Turns out there were no problems, we just switched to my dad's Dr. So I now have an appointment at 10am on Friday and I'll fill out a records release form and they will have my records sent over. So I'll be able to get my UTI treated, and hopefully talk to him about getting two moles removed, without having to go to a specialist, since I have a mole on my back that hurts, and apparently is huring because it is ripping off. :(

Dr.s and Employment:

Dropped off my background check papers yesterday and did the drug test. This time they verified to me that as long as I pass everything, the job is mine because I was the first choice, which made me feel really good. :) My polygraph is set up for next Tuesday at 4:30pm in Rockledge. So we'll see how it goes, I'm a little nervous. Also, trying to find a new general practitioner. I refuse to go to Royal Oak anymore with all the bullshit they pull. And I've got another UTI again that I need to get seen for, and I have two moles that I need to get removed, so if anyone knows of a decent doctor locally that isn't Royal Oak, please let me know.

Sunday, May 24, 2009

Background Check:

So I went in Friday morning, got like the 20 page background check papers, did my fingerprinting, and signed a paper of "offer of employment based on me passing the check", which from what I understand, means that as long as I pass it, I have the job. I finished filling out all of the paperwork except for the 5 pages that have to be notarized, because I've got to get them done at the Sheriff's office so it will be free. Tuesday I've got to go do the drug test, and drop off the papers since everyone's closed on Monday.

Thursday, May 21, 2009

AHHH!!

Ahhh! Looks like the prayers finally paid off! I just talked to the Sheriff's office b/c I called to check on the status since I never heard anything back, including a no, and they said they were just gonna call me today and ask me when I can come in for my background check! Ah! So I'm going in tomorrow at 11:30am to do the background check stuff! Ah!! So it sounds like as long as I pass everything, I'll get it! Ahh!!

5/20/09 Update

Had a shoot yesterday in Largo. Had a blast, and stopped in to visit with some friends in Lakeland on the way home. :) Good times. Also started the new semester on Monday, and I won't lie, I'm terrified. This semester is going to be aweful. I'm doing two courses, just like I did in spring, except that one of my courses is only 5 weeks long, and the other runs the whole semester which is still shorter than a normal semester. I'm definitely going to have to bust my butt to keep my awesome GPA where it is. Very scared. Right now I'm watching Oprah from yesterday, and it's really beautiful.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Interview in 30 minutes..

So my interview is in 30 minutes and I'm scared, but excited, but nervous. I want it so bad I can taste it! Agh! Just please please please let this one go well!!!

Monday, May 11, 2009

Interview...

so my interview is in just two days and I'm really nervous. I really really want it. I'm writing down the questions I have for them so that I don't forget. I'm getting very excited, just don't want to get my hopes up, but I can't express how great this job would be for me if I got it. It would improve basically everything in my life right now. Less gas/drive, more money, I could have lunches with my mom, they have tuition reimbusements, it's in my field, it's in an office, it'd be fabulous. PLEASE pray for me!!

Friday, May 8, 2009

Also...

in other good news, UCF apparently, when I started my master's program, reset my GPA, so now I have a 3.5 instead of the 2.99 that I'd had when I graduated last semester. :) Yay! So now I can start fresh, and busting my ass will actually count for something. I couldn't be happier right now!

Interview:

Yay! I got another job interview with the Sheriff's Office on Wednesday at 1pm for a Judicial Technician position in Titusville. Please pray for me and keep your fingers crossed that I get this position so I can get the hell out of Fairvilla and into something that I'm good at and my schooling can have a use for.

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

First semester grades...

So the final grades came to a 99% and an 86.9%, so I ended up with a 3.5 for the semester. My new classes start in 11 days. I need to run by campus and pick up my books or have david get them for me. I'm very very grateful this semester because not only did David's parents help me significantly with tuition, but my grandparents sent me a check as well since financial aid for grad school just doesn't seem to exist. So thankful, so if either of you are reading, thank you so much!

Still looking very hard for a new job. I've applied for like a million of them at the sheriff's office, still waiting...trying to be patient.
Went for a really nice bike ride lastnight with David and my siblings and it felt really good, and the weather was absolutely beautiful. While we were out, we saw an armodillo (sp?), a big bat, and a bunch of fireflies. :) It was beautiful.

Grades...

So I have a 99% in my Sex Crimes class, and I'm waiting on my Cyber Crimes, because I still have a discussion posting grade and my grade from my final still to get back, but I just got back the grade on my paper and it was a 92% which currently has me at an 85% in the class. So we'll see..

Friday, April 24, 2009

So I took my final for my Sex Crimes class and got a 94% so if I did the math correctly, it looks like I have a 99% in that class. In my Cybercrimes class, I have my final on Tuesday, and so far I have an 80% in that class. Bleh. I'm going to try and get onto campus on Tuesday and get them to fix my degree audit since I currently can't access it, and I'm going to see if there is any way possible that they will allow me to defer my summer tuition until my fall loan comes in, because otherwise, it's not looking possible to attend the summer terms anymore, which will put me back two semesters. Serious stresser.

Almost done...

Yay! So I turned in my final research paper lastnight. I've got a discussion posting to do today, and then I've got a final for Sex Crimes on Friday, and I've got a final for Cybercrimes (supposedly) next Tuesday. Very close to being done with my first semester, and it feels good. I'm stressing a little bit about summer classes though, because it would appear that tuition went up even more, because this past semester it was $1200 for two class, and for summer it's $2000 for two classes, which means we've got to pull $1000 out of nowhere, so not sure how we're going to do that exactly yet. Unfortunately, I have no finanial aid or loans or anything that covers the summer. Agh. I'll have my loans come in in August, but I'm thinking the money for school is due in like two weeks. Not sure what to do. But we'll figure it out.

Updates:

Just dropped off my application for an Adminstrative Assistant position at the Sheriff's Office. I've got two weeks left of school for this semester. I've got two finals and a paper to do before next Monday. Right now I'm just relaxing before I have to head to work, and watching Oprah. Just praying I get a call for an interview. I really really want this job.

It's Easter!

and boy has it been a very long day. I got home from work around 3am, and because it's the schedule I've become used to, I didn't fall asleep until around 4:30am, then got up at 8:15am, to go to church with David's parents and his brother Robert. David stayed passed out so he wouldn't fall asleep tonight at work. After church, I went to the dollar store and Winn Dixie to pick up some candy, temporary tattoos, and easter eggs for the siblings to have an easter egg hunt. Then David got up around 11:00am, and we headed to my parents'. I filled the eggs, put them out, and started on the casserole. At 1:30pm we headed to David's parents' for their Easter dinner, and got to see Larry and Bob which was nice, because we don't get to see them very often. At 2:30pm we had to head to my parents' because David had to head to work, so my mom put him together a lunchbox to bring to work so he could have food for dinner. Had dinner at my parents' and passed out for two hours on my parents' living room floor. Then Naner and I hung out and played Monopoly and Scrabble on the computer. Now I'm finally home, and watching Oprah and catching up on internet stuff. Tomorrow I'm heading to the Sheriff's office to drop off another application for an Administrative Assistant position that I really really want. Wish me luck!

Yay!

Got a 94% on my sex crimes paper! This makes me happy. Also, in other news, somewhat considering a career in law enforcement. Not really sure how I feel about it at the moment, but considering doing the academy after I graduate.

Rainy day...

Finishing up my paper, doing laundry and dishes, and took the dogs in for their shots...turns out Punkin has heartworms. He'll start his treatment in a week or so. :(

Sickness:

I've been sick since Friday and missed three days of work so far, and feel like crap. Halfway to work on Friday I felt like the left side of my throat was swelling closed. So I turned around, called into work, and headed to the Dr. in Port St. John. They did a strep test and it came back negative, so they took blood. I had something tonsilitis, and my blood cells showed that a virus was coming, so he wrote me a prescription to help prevent it. After paying $43.99 for the prescription, I get home and have a message on my phone from the pharmacist asking me please to not take the medication, because my Dr. is a moron and didn't actually read my chart and wrote me a prescription for something I'm allergic too. Saturday morning I called the Dr. to talk to him about it and get it straightened out. I was told they would call me back. They called me back 10 minutes before closing to tell me that I never came in. Interesting. They'll call me back. No call. Sunday comes. I call again. "Is it an emergency?" "It will be if I take the prescription he gave me and I have an allergic reaction!" "I am sending out the page to him, he will call you shortly". No call. Good thing I wasn't dying. I called the hospital, and they suggested I call another pharmicist. The second pharmicist says absolutely 100% do not take that prescription. Today I'm furious. I still have no meds and have a full blown virus that could have been prevented if he didn't screw up in the first place. My mom and I go down to see him to get a new prescription and get another Dr.'s note. They tell me I'll have to come back. They'll call me when it's ready. Three hours go by...no call. I call them, and she gets bitchy with me on the phone (surprise, surprise since they did the same crap all weekend). I hang up on her after yelling at her that they've had three hours and this is ridiculous. I've been trying to reach them for 3 days!! 20 minutes later she calls and tells me the prescription is ready and so is my note. I pick up my note, give her the death stare and leave. Needless to say, I'm appalled at the lack of professionalism and care that this particular practice has for their patients. I will definitely be switching Dr.'s a.s.a.p. Now I'm taking my meds, watching a show, and preparing to write my paper that is due tomorrow.

This week..

has been ridiculously busy. Saturday I have intestinal problems again. Needless to say I need to get a colonoscopy, but am not looking forward to either the procedure, nor the money that it is going to cost us to do it. Sunday Renee, Lauren and I drove to Tampa to meet up with Ashley for the Britney Spears/Pussycat Dolls concert. It was incredible, despite a long wait, a long drive, and not getting home until 3am. Monday I went to work. Tuesday, David and I drove to Ft. Lauderdale to pick up his toy (a Jeep), and then home to make dinner for my family. Today I had work, as do I tomorrow and Friday. Friday I have a quiz for my cybercrimes course, then Saturday and Sunday David and I will be in Tampa for the Renaissance Faire with some friends of ours. The Tuesday I have my midterm for my sex crimes class. In less than 3 weeks I have a paper due for sex crimes, and in about 5 weeks have a paper due for cybercrimes. I'm getting my butt kicked, but I'm still managing to pull through. In other news, we should be paying off the two motorcycles in a week or so, and I've already got several people lined up to buy them in a month or so, so yay! Those will be gone, and it'll give us a little money, as well as no more monthly payments and crazy interest rates. Yay! Also, in the next month or so, we'll be redoing our master bath, and completely taking out the tub/plumbing that is in there and replacing it with a jacuzzi tub, which I couldn't be happier about. Also, I did the math, and on the 25th will be signing up for the next three semesters of classes. If all goes well as I anticipate it too, then I will be graduating next summer with my masters! :) Also, David and I discussed it, and as of next summer (because I want to graduate first) we will begin trying to start our family!! I'm estatic! :) Yay!

Thursday, March 5, 2009

Next week is my midterms. This weekend we're hoping to do more on my grandparents' roof, and Saturday David is going to have Doug and Robert over to play video games. Then Sunday, Renee, Lauren and myself are going to the Britney Spears concert in Tampa. Then the following weekend David and I are going back to Tampa for a Renaissance Festival. Should be fun. :)

Sunday, March 1, 2009

Worked on my brother's house again today, and finally got him moved in, which means next weekend if David is not in Ft. Lauderdale picking up the Jeep, we'll most likely be roofing at my grandparents again unless we finish it on Tuesday when we're over there. Now after a long day, we are home again, have taken showers, and now I am doing stuff for school. I just posted one of my two discussions, and got my answers prepared for my web chat that begins in a few minutes, and then after this, I've got a quiz to take. Next week I have my midterm for my sex crimes class. But just thought I'd check in with everyone. :)

Testing

Just making sure posting still works properly. A hard-drive in our server died but it looks like the restore went right.

Monday, February 23, 2009

Today..

I'm going to drop off four more applications at the Sheriff's office. Doing laundry, picking up my mom from work and Nick and Renee from school then dropping them at therapy at 3pm. Agh, my day is already way more busy than it should be.

Saturday, February 21, 2009

Today...

is Dottie's funeral. I'm not looking forward to this day, and then having to go to work tonight...:(

Friday, February 20, 2009

Didn't get it..

So I didn't get the Records tech job that I was hoping for, but I'm not giving up. There are three new positions available at the jail which I won't lie, would be a little bit scary and intimidating, but still. So I'm applying for those on Monday. So we'll see how goes. Wish me luck again.

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

Haven't heard...

back from the Sheriff's office yet, and that makes me not feel great about it, but they said I'd hear back whether I got it or not, so I may call tomorrow or something to check in. Worked on grandpa's roof yesterday and my whole body aches. My arms and legs are ridiculously sore, and my arms and my left hand are sunburnt. I am wiped. Today I have to go in early for a meeting with one of the vendors and our CEO. Not really looking forward to it. :( I'm definitely still trying to get out of there.

We need your prayers today...

A very good friend of our family, my dad's best friend and employee passed away late lastnight. She will be very dearly missed and was more than suppostive of us when my grandfather passed away a few months ago. please pray for their family as they deal with the same thing we just went through all too recently.

R.I.P. Dottie! We love you!

Super Yay!

So I scored an interview with the Sheriff's Office! Super excited! My interview is Thursday morning at 10am, so those of you that were hoping and praying I'd get the interview, I could really use those hopes and prayers again that they offer me the position! :) Thanks a bunch everyone! Hopefully I'll have some good news in a week. :)

Sunday, February 8, 2009

So I decided against the DCF interview and called to cancel that on Friday. I'm just hoping to hear back from the Sheriff's office for the Records Technician spot, and get asked for an interview. The application time ended on Friday so with any luck, they'll give me a call since I've already done the position before, am going for my masters, live close, and got 70 and 60 wpm on my typing test when I only needed 25. So pray for me and keep your fingers crossed! It would be fantastic to be in an office again, especially so close to home. I'd be in same building as my mom and brother too so I could do lunch with them, and it pays more and I'd have the benefits from the Sheriffs. Good lord I want this job.

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

Got an offer...

to come in for an interview to be a DCF investigator, but I'm just not sure about it. I'm thinking that after talking to several people that I won't go, but I've got a few days to think about it. :(

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

So I've decided...

that I need to write in this blog more since there is some family that I don't get to talk to often, and that probably wonder from time to time how we're doing. :) All is well in the young Pocock household. I've working a lot, as is David, but despite the crazy schedules we've got, we've been able to actually spend a decent amount of time together and have been making well with it. We've been helping out at my parents' a lot recently since they've moved into my grandma's house. We've also been helping to renovate the house that Douglas is moving into.

I've been doing my school stuff for my grad classes, and one of them I absolutely love. It's my sex crimes class and on the past 5 assignments (that's all the one we've had) I've gotten 100/100. Yay! My other class I'm still doing decent in, but it's super boring. Cybercrime sounded like such a cool class, but it's complete crap. In two months time I'll have two big papers due, so I'm hoping to get it all straightened out soon as to what I want to write about.

I applied to the Sheriff's office today because they are hiring for a Records Techinician aka File Clerk which I've done before and love doing. It pays more than what I currently make, it's in Titusville, in an office, and has great benefits. I dressed up nice and dropped off my application and they had me do the typing test while I was there. I got 70 wpm on the first and 60 wpm on the second, but was only required to be able to do 25 wpm. Definitely keeping my fingers crossed that they will call me in for an interview. I want it soooo bad. So everyone out there of religion, please pray for me that I get this! It's huge for me right now!

I just want to apologize for not being around with everyone in a while. We've pretty much got one day off together a week and it's usually spent with my siblings in order to just have some fun time, but I'm hoping to make rounds again soon.

President Obama:

I can't say that I'd taken a huge interest in this election. Not to say that I am not happy that there is this "change" I'm just waiting to see if the real changes come. I will say that I am estatic to have Bush out of office and start fresh and new. I've been watching my DVR'd week of Oprah and she's been discussing the election for the past week on her shows. It's kind of sad really to me though because on the show everyone is so excited, so happy, so moved, so inspired. I don't feel it. I feel bad that I don't, that I feel somewhat indifferent. I don't feel that connection that everyone else feels. It's weird. I will say though that after watching the different segments, and being part of my online class, it does make me want to be more involved in things at least on a local level. Unfortunately, given my current work schedule, I can't attend city council meetings, but I am looking for a way to get more politically involved locally and to voice my opinions and help set change. Any ideas?

Update:

Classes are going great. I'm doing really good. Work is good too, although a bit exhausting. The 5:30pm-2am schedule is a little much, but I'm getting used to it. I applied for a secretary position for City of Titusville starting at $12.75/hr. So keep your fingers crossed for me. It'd be a great opportunity and would put me back in an office again, which I love. So we'll see. Today is Nick's (12th?) birthday. We'll be heading over for lunch and whatnot to celebrate tomorrow.

First day x2:

First day of work went pretty decently, I just hope I don't let them down. There are a lot of products to learn. But I'm definitely going to do my best, and I already get along great with everyone except one person, which isn't like a bad thing, it's just that I don't really know her yet.

As for school, I'm a little intimidated but I think I'll be able to keep it under control. David was able to pick up my books for my one class today but the book for my other isn't available yet. Hopefully it will be soon though. Starting tomorrow I've got to make sure I get three chapters read before Sunday night for the chat, and I need to post a discussion board posting and respond to two people before Sunday night as well. I think I can do it though. I'll have tomorrow before work, which I'll have several hours, and then I'll have Saturday, which currently we have no plans, and I'll have Sunday afternoon as well. So it should be okay. It's just going to take some getting used to.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Excited about school now, well at least one of my classes anyway. The other isn't available online yet. Nervous like crazy about the new job. I leave her in like 2.5 hours, and I just hope I do well and that it works out. Agh. So much for one day. And I had an aweful night's sleep, but at least I was able to finally get in a 3 hour nap a little while ago. Hopefully it helps. Anyway, gonna go eat before I have to start getting ready to head out.

Job Interview:

Had my job interview today and it went great! I should know by Monday or so whether or not I got it.

Thursday, January 1, 2009

Job interview:

Yay! So not to get too ahead of myself, I'm about to have a job interview, and it already seems pretty promising. Not necessarily what I want to do forever, but it's at least something, and it out to be pretty fun.
